Caroline enjoys bike rides but she has always braked only with her right hand, as it is impossible for her to brake with the left hand due to hand deformities. She feels really limited and insecure, also because pain in her right hand makes braking more difficult. She can currently only brake on flat ground and therefore avoid slopes, which limits quite a bit the possibilities of routes. During the 2022 hackathon, ateam came up with a circular disc connecting the handle and the brake, a support for the wrist and a small lever to attach to the transmission system. The solution was mounted on Caroline's bike and she used it several times. Some improvements would be necessary, notably to make the system more robust and waterproof !
