About Ian

Ian Pereira was born in 1977. He was involved in a traffic accident in his youth. Since then, he has had difficulty coordinating his movements and has had tremors.

Today, Ian works in Geneva as a video editor in the audiovisual sector of the Foyer-Handicap Foundation. He edits family films for clients.

Challenge

My tremors prevent me from using the mouse smoothly when working on the computer.

I would like to be more precise in my movements and have better control of the mouse.

Solution

The team came up with a design that would help him grasp and move the mouse, together with a splint stabilizing the wrist, as well as a software solution to attenuate the oscillations. The goal from now on would be to improve the design of the hand-support to be more comfortable, and the filter of the mouse signal by predicting the signal.
